Deciding to get engaged is one of the biggest choices you can make in life and along with the proposal comes all the other stuff, like choosing an engagement ring, making the announcement and throwing a party. Our guide will help you work your way through the rules of engagement!

Your Guide to Getting Engaged

It never ceases to amaze me the number of amazingly creative and wonderful ways that some men come up with to propose to their sweet-hearts. How about the guy who tied the engagement ring with a special knot to the string of a kite so that when his girlfiend pulled on the string, the ring came tumbling out of the sky!

Of course a proposal doesn't need to be nearly so elaborate as long as it's delivered from the heart. Sometimes it can be very enlightening to find out other people's proposal stories. For instance, do you even know how your parents proposed?

Perhaps one of the simplest and most sincere ways to propose is to go back to a place that is special to the two of you - perhaps where you first met or where you had your first date. Create a romantic atmosphere, share what's in your heart and let love take care of the rest.
